Faced with high water bills and struggling plants, this Kalamunda family sought a garden better suited to its environment. We replaced a thirsty lawn with a beautiful, low-upkeep native garden, using local plant palettes that flourish in the Hills’ microclimate. The design incorporates hydrozoning and efficient drip irrigation to deliver water only where it’s needed, drastically reducing consumption. Natural stonework retaining walls correct drainage issues on the sloping block, creating level, usable garden areas. The result is a stunning, sustainable landscape that works with nature, not against it.
