The restaurant overhangs the leven river. The views are lovely. Our meals were delicious, well proportioned and reasonably priced.

We sat out on the balcony. How absolutely amazing. Watching the water, birds, even people swimming, the sky with moving white clouds, great conversation. The delicious food, lovely company, FRIENDLY staff. We felt like we didn’t want to leave …. but of cause we did. My company were from the mainland and were so glad I had taken them there. They won’t be back for a while BUT I will be going back there.

It appears I may have mistakenly written this review on the “Strait off the Boat Seafood Bar and Restaurant” whereas, it should have been the “Fish and Chip Shop”. I would like to apologise to the owners of this restaurant. I live in Victoria and love the people of Ulverstone, I spent 3 weeks there 10 years ago, working with BlazeAid following the floods over there in 2016. I even purchased my camper from Penquin. Im looking forward to dining at this restaurant next time I’m in Tassie. Although it might be a long time off. I have re-rated this restaurant with 5 stars, In anticipation. I’m feeling good energy about this restaurant. I wish the new owners well. (Fish and chips OK, average fish and chip shop, tad expensive, nothing special for a fish and chip shop).

Amazing food and great views of the Leven River. Battered scallop is soft inside and crispy outside and lightly seasoned, and the seafood chowder is rich, and they don’t hold back on the seafood! Highly recommended!

Spaghetti marinara still my husbands favourite here, but honestly everything is great and very generous serves. So grateful that we live close by and come often

Best seafood restaurant in Ulverstone. The restaurant is in a excellent location overlooking the Leven River on what used to be the old wharf . Food was wonderful with a great selection and fantastic coffee . A bit more upmarket than the usual restaurant and that is reflected in the pricing. Well worth the visit .

Loved the food – I had 1/2 scallops & 1/2 flathead, staff were friendly, weather was very cold outside but lovely & comfy inside Highly recommend

Peaceful eating, window seats overlooking the river. Staff delightful. Food straightforward, well presented and good – I had grilled flake with chips and salad. Very yummy!

Had an Enjoyable Lunch with Three Grandchildren

We had dinner last week. They didn’t let down the recommendation we got from where we were staying. Food was excellent and I was struggling to finish the serve ordered. A place one must visit if in Ulverstone and we are going back when we next visit Ulverstone

A most memorable meal,with a lovely view over the River Leven. Prawns, scallops cooked to perfection, delicious desserts to finish of a wonderful meal. Service was professional and quick.

Great location with veiws over the river.The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.The portion sizes for our main courses which looked and tasted delicious were generous.on our first visit i couldn’t manage a desert so on our 2nd visit I had an entree and desert.The deserts are also generous and delicious..Highly recommended..
